About Torremolinos

Torremolinos is a tourism-oriented city and municipality on Spain's Costa del Sol, 12kms to the west of the city of Málaga, in the province of Málaga and the autonomous region of Andalucia in southern Spain.  Torremolinos can be loosely defined as consisting of three distinct areas, namely the town centre, the various beaches, and the old town, known as El Calvario.

Buses
Buses to Malaga can be boarded at the bus stop on Avenida Palma de Mallorca close to Calle San Miguel. You should buy your ticket at the kiosk before boarding. Tickets cost €1.25 one way. Services begin at 07:04 on weekdays, 06:32 weekends, and the last bus runs at 02:21 weekdays and Sundays. Buses run at least every half hour, more at peak times, and run all night on Saturday nights.  Buses to Benalmadena can be boarded on the opposite side of the road outside Holly Fitzsimon's Pub. A kiosk sells tickets prior to boarding. Tickets cost €1.10 one way. Regular services begin at 06:23 weekdays, 06:37 weekends, and the last bus goes at 01:26 weekdays & Sundays. All night service on Saturday nights.
In addition to these services, there are two local bus routes between Torremolinos centre, and Playamar (L2) and La Carihuela/Aloha Puerta

Long distance buses from the bus station at Calle Hoyo provide services to the following destinations:

  • Cordoba: twice daily (once on Sundays), journey time 3hrs 30 mins, tickets €12.97

  • Granada: 4 buses daily, journey time 3hrs, tickets €10.21

  • La Linea (for Gibraltar): 4 times daily, journey time 2hrs 40 mins, tickets €9.18

  • Ronda: 4 times daily, journey time 2hrs 25mins, tickets €8.49

  • Marbella: up to 17 buses daily, journey time 1hr 5mins, tickets €3.70

Trains
Regular trains run between Malaga & Fuengirola, stopping at Torremolinos. The station is situated in Plaza la Nogalera. There are stops also at Los Alamos, La Colina & El Pinillo. The airport is situated between Torremolinos & Malaga, and is served by it's own station. Connections to National services can be made at Malaga-Renfe station.
Services from Torremolinos to Malaga start at 06:47 daily, and run every half hour, last train departing at 23:47.  Ticket price (one way) is €1.30
